Probably not! Puppy training can start earlier than many people realize. The American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior says the most important socialization period is during the first three months of life, and puppies can generally begin safe puppy socialization as early as 7–8 weeks old with appropriate vaccine precautions, which I am happy to guide you through.
At Pacific North Woof, puppy training is age-appropriate and focused on where your puppy is developmentally while helping them build confidence, communication, routines, and real-life skills.
Yes. Potty training is often about routines, supervision, timing, management, and making it easier for your puppy to be successful. We’ll look at what’s currently happening and create a realistic plan for your home.
Totally fine! Adolescence can be a challenging stage for majority of dogs and their people, and is often when parents first reach out for training because of this. Many young dogs become more distracted, impulsive, energetic, or sensitive during this time. Training can help rebuild consistency, strengthen communication, and support your dog through this developmental stage.
After your consultation, we’ll decide whether Coaching Sessions or Day Training are the best fit.
Coaching is best if you want to learn how to train your puppy yourself.
Day Training is best if you want me to work directly with your puppy during the week, with hand-off sessions so you can maintain the progress.
I use only positive reinforcement and force-free methods—teaching skills in a way that supports trust and long-term progress.
No. As a Certified Fear-Free Professional I am committed to following a humane, emotionally protective code of conduct and ethical standards with the animals in my care. I do not use prong collars, remote e-collars, or punishment-based corrections/intimidation practices - more info on this can be found under my 'Philosophy & Approach' section, of my About Page.
Dog behavior & training isn’t something that can be guaranteed — and anyone who promises specific results is usually oversimplifying a very complex process.
Behavior change depends on many factors, including your dog’s history, their environment, emotional state, and how consistently skills are maintained & practiced between sessions. My role is to provide clear guidance, realistic plans, and ongoing support by adjusting where and when we need to— but progress is always a team effort.
What I can promise is thoughtful, individualized training, honest expectations, and support that’s focused on long-term improvement every step of the way.
