Pulls on leash or struggles in public
Gets overexcited, reactive, or easily overwhelmed
Listens at home, but falls apart outside
Is a puppy or adolescent, who suddenly feels like a lot
Is an adult dog whose habits never quite stuck
If you’ve been told your dog is “stubborn,” “dominant,” or needs firmer corrections — you’re not alone. And you’re not doing anything wrong.
At Pacific North Woof, Mandy helps dog parents build skills, communication, and emotional regulation using humane, positive training methods that support long-term success — without fear, force, or punishment.
Teach your dog how to greet people calmly and confidently.
Build everyday skills that support good behavior at home and out in the world.
Support for dogs who struggle with reactivity, frustration, or overwhelm.
Walk together without pulling, dragging, or constant tension — so walks feel more like quality time and less like a battle.
Help your dog feel safe and comfortable during vet visits, grooming, and everyday handling.

Mandy will review your request and if she is a good fit for what you're needing, she'll confirm your spot and get ready to help you train your pup in the best way possible!
Choosing the right training support can feel like a big decision — and it’s okay to have questions first.

Yes. In-person work is offered as coaching sessions and packages, after your virtual consultation. Virtual consultations are a requirement before booking any in-person coaching.
I help with common training goals like: puppy foundational skills, new adoption integration, leash walking, manners, trick training, recall, reactivity, and cooperative care for grooming/vet visits. I do not take aggression cases (bite history/severe aggression towards dogs or people), but I am happy to refer out to my list of trusted professionals that are certified for such cases.
I use only positive reinforcement and force-free methods—teaching skills in a way that supports trust and long-term progress.
No. As a Certified Fear-Free Professional I am committed to following a humane, emotionally protective code of conduct and ethical standards with the animals in my care. I do not use prong collars, remote e-collars, or punishment-based corrections/intimidation practices - more info on this can be found under my 'Philosophy & Approach' section, of my About Page.
That’s okay — many dog owners were taught to use these tools before learning there were other options.
While I don’t use or recommend them, I’m happy to help you transition away from them. Training that makes real change, focuses on building skills your dog can rely on without discomfort or pressure, so you’re not dependent on tools to get results.
We’ll move at a pace that feels realistic for you and your dog, with the goal of creating lasting behavior change — not just short-term control.
Dog training isn’t something that can be guaranteed — and anyone who promises specific results is usually oversimplifying a very complex process.
Behavior change depends on many factors, including your dog’s history, their environment, emotional state, and how consistently skills are maintained & practiced between sessions. My role is to provide clear guidance, realistic plans, and ongoing support by adjusting where and when we need to— but progress is always a team effort.
What I can promise is thoughtful, individualized training, honest expectations, and support that’s focused on long-term improvement every step of the way — not quick fixes.
